Streaming Apple TV via internet on non-Apple laptop

When I try to stream videos via the https://tv.apple.com/ URL on my laptop (a LG, not Mac product), they frequently freeze. The only way to resume streaming is to exit from full screen mode and refresh the browser tab. Sometimes that doesn't even work. I know internet connectivity could be at play, but this happens so frequently that it seems to be a larger problem. Any suggestions? Which browser to use perhaps? Any other workarounds? Thank you in advance for your help

Welcome Keggerton,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Based on your post, when watching Apple TV+ content using a browser on your PC, it freezes. We'll do our best to assist with this.

According to: Watch in a web browser the Chrome and Firefox apps are supported.

Make sure you're not using a VPN, as these can cause connectivity issues. If you are using a VPN or security software, try to disable them and reboot the PC to test it out.

Should it persist within these apps, does it happen with specific content or all content played?

Have you tested both supported browsers? If so, are the results the same in each app?

Hoping to hear back, take care.

Hey Keggerton,

We logged in to Apple TV on the web to confirm what's going on. The playback controls should be available, if you use the cursor inside of the full screen window of the browser. It sounds like the app may not be responding to you when this occurs and forces you to reload the webpage.

If you haven't yet, we'd restart the PC.

We'd confirm these browsers are up to date on your PC and if there are any updates available to test the issue further after installing these updates. You may also want to clear the browser's cache and/or history.

Try signing out of the Apple TV on the web, then sign back in. Trust the browser when you sign back in.

Should it persist, does this occur with any other streamed content? Meaning, are you able to reproduce this playing streamed content from other TV or movie sources? (For Example, Netflix, Paramount+, Disney+, etc.) Do you have any issues playing Apple TV+ on other devices?

Have a good one, cheers.

Thank you for your response. I am not using a VPN or security software (and I am based in the U.S.). I have now tried it on both Chrome and Firefox, and the issue remains the same. It happens with various video content. In case it helps to know, I usually am watching in full-screen mode, and when it freezes, I exit full-screen mode, but there are no playbar controls (pause, play, exit, etc.). In order to "unfreeze," I have to refresh the browser (which means any viewing progress is not recorded). Any further suggestions you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your response. I have tried all of the general solutions: signing in and out of Apple TV+, restarting the PC and the browsers, and clearing the browser cache. The browsers are up to date: version 97.0.4692.71 for Chrome and version 96.0.0.8041 for Firefox. The only other streamed content I watch on the device is Netflix, and it works fine, with no freezing. I do not have any other device upon which I watch Apple TV+.
