Ongoing charges even after person left family sharing

I have had nothing but problems with family sharing. Why on earth does apple not allow each member to keep their payment option? Why am I still be charged for a family member that is no longer in the family sharing plan? Our adult daughter has many monthly subscriptions and once we saw it was going to charge my card for her purchases she opted to be removed from the group, a month later her charges are still coming out of my card yet she is not in the family sharing anymore. Her account says she is still part of sharing but she doesn’t show up in it on my account.
