Child required to enter password 4 times to buy an app

I have setup screen time so my child is required to ask permission to purchase apps.

I have enabled Apple ID-> Family Sharing->Ask to Buy for my child.

I have set his Screen Time->Content & Privacy Restrictions->iTunes & App Store Purchase->Require Password to "Don't Require".

When he tries to buy an App he has to enter his password twice before he can click "Ask", wait for me to approve, and then enter his password two more times before the App will start downloading.

We are all on the latest versions of iOS and iPadOS.

Please can you advise how we stop him being prompted for his password multiple times.

Hello MartinMacHead,

We see you're having some issues with repeated Apple ID prompts, and we'd be happy to help.

This page here has some helpful info regarding requiring a password for App Store/iTunes Store purchases: Require a password for App Store and iTunes purchases

It can help to see if they can sign in successfully to the Apple ID site without problems: Manage your Apple ID

If that works fine, have them try signing out at Settings > [their name] > Media & Purchases > Sign Out.

Then, restart the device, and sign back in to the same spot, and check to see if it now accepts the password after one try.

To rule out connection-related issues, it can also help to try removing any VPNs or other security apps that may be installed. Also, check to ensure the date and time are set accurately at Settings > General > Date & Time.

Cheers.
