AU Lab input now working on M1 Monterey

Hi,

I'm using MacBook Pro M1 2020. I noticed that AU Lab is not receiving any input signal. When I create a new document with the Built-in microphone set as input, no audio is being monitored. But when I open System Preferences -> Sound, I can see that the microphone is cathing some input signal. (Eventually, I'd like to use AU Lab with VB Cable as input.) I guess the problem might be connected with some Privacy settings, but AU Lab is not present in the Privacy-Microphone apps list. That means I can't give the app a premission. Anyone knows how to allow AU Lab to receive an input signal?

Thank you in advance.

I'm sorry, I didn't provide enough information. I tried different AU Lab versions from multiple Apple links. But the last one I found, which seems as the latest version, I downloaded from https://developer.apple.com/download/all/?q=au%20lab Here it is as a bundle of Additional Tools for Xcode 13.2.

I found the link https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8552731 earlier but the problem is I can't see the AU Lab app in the list of apps which ask for Microphone access permission. Thus I can't grant that permission.

Another links that I found but didn't work for me are:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251269841

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4095261

https://github.com/ExistentialAudio/BlackHole/issues/4

If more information is needed, I'm willing to provide it.

If restarting into Safe Mode doesn’t clear this—the reboot and the cache rebuild can sometimes clear odd issues—then I suspect you’ll want to discuss this with Apple Support, both the bug / error / issue with microphone access directly here, and secondarily also the existence of multiple apparently-different download versions of this app scattered around Apple.

Thank you for the tip. I restarted into Safe Mode but unfortunately VB Cable didn't work properly. While running it's diagnostic tool, I discovered that the "Agent runnig" test failed. So probably some extension which is needed for VB cable wasn't loaded in the safe mode. I tried listening to VB Cable output with Reaper (DAW program) which went all right. So I guess there is really a problem in the AU Lab app. I'll contact the Apple Support.

Thank you very much for you time and advice.
