High CPU usage. Need help.

I am running a mac pro 2019 with 198gb of ram and 2.7 GHz 24-Core Intel Xeon W. I work primnarily in Adobe Premiere and have been having significant issues. My CPU usage goes all the way up to 2,000 at times. What is happening?

When looking at the CPU % figures, it helps to understand that this is a value across all of your Mac Pro's processor cores. As an example, 100% would indicate that one core is fully utilized, or more likely, some lesser % is being used by each core. As you know the Mac Pros can be equipped with 8, 12, 16, 24, or 28-core CPUs.

I am also assuming the the CPU Temperature is in ºF ... correct? That would work out to be around 85.5 ºC which is a bit warm, but not excessively hot.

Is there some particular issues that your Mac is experiencing or is your concern just the "high" CPU % that Adobe is running at?

all three of your kernel panics is for watchdog timer firing because WindowServer did not check in in a timely fashion.

The extensions at the "scene of the crime" do not help, because they are only watchdog timer extensions.

The third-party extensions added are the Promise drivers. All you can do about that is make sure they are up-to-date.

Thank you for this information. So you are saying with a 24 core system, having it read over 100% isn't actually taking all the CPU? For example, I have attached another image which shows over 1000% for premiere.

Yes the temp is in Fahrenheit.

I was having an issue in Big Sur where my system would restart in the middle of the night for a kernel panic. It was happening every night. I updated yesterday to Monterey and am hoping that was the issue. The analysis of the kernel panic is attached. I have included 3 different reports from 3 different days.

Thank you for all your help!
