MagSafe 3 charger for MacBook Pro 13 2015 model

I have a MacBook Pro 13 2015 model. The new magsafe 3 adapter seems more qualitative. If I buy one will it charge backwards my old MacBook?

thanks

Hi,

I think you can't. You need to get Magsafe2 60W adapter.

Hi,

MagSafe 2 was slimmer than the original MagSafe connector, and MagSafe 3 appears even slightly thinner than that, but a tiny bit wider. ... There is the power brick and the newly-braided USB-C to MagSafe cable. Both parts can be purchased separately, or you can use an existing USB-C brick that you may have around.

Dear Kaz-K

Thank a lot for your time and overall help. I understand, that magsafe 3 will be rather incompatible. I would like also to avoid non-certified apple products that might cause problems such as fusion, overwarming etc. I have till now three original damaged apple magsafe 2 chargers. Cable does not last more than a couple of years. I wonder if I can buy something qualitative alternatively. The nice idea you proposed I do not comprehend fully unfortunately. Since my great problem is the cheap quality of magsafe 2 cable, is there a way to get separately an armed one and stick it to a usb c charger? I am eager to buy something again, but not for forth time the same charger that I know it is not going to last long. Maybe there is a good opportunity to arm somehow the original apple cable

I appreciate your help and time

kind regards

Michael
