Blocking group text threads
If I block a group text thread because it’s too active & distracting, will all members of that thread be blocked from sending me individual messages?

We understand you have questions on blocking messages. We're happy to offer some guidance.
Now to start, it depends on what you mean by "block" a group message. If you are adding the phone numbers from the people in that group to the blocked contacts list in Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts, then yes all phone calls and messages from those phone numbers will be blocked.
If you're just talking about silencing the notifications in that message thread by tapping on the group icons at the top > Info button > Hide Alerts, then no that would not affect individual messages you receive from the people that are also in that group. Only the notifications for the messages that come into that group thread would be silenced.
