iOS 15.3 battery drain

I have the iPhone 13 pro (not the Max). I had terrific battery life on iOS 15.1 (could get 9 hours of screen-on time), but ever since I've upgraded to 15.2 and above, I can only get about 6 hours of screen-on time.

Dear apple, please fix!

Battery drains extremely fast now in my 7 months old iphone 12 too after the update. I wish I could go back to the older version of ios. I ran the battery health check and it says maximum capacity is still 100%. But, still it drains crazy fast . Hope Apple comes out with a fix soon.

Hi since updateing to iOS 15.3 on iPhone 8+ IPad Air both phone getting very hot before updateing phone was ok . My Question is can I go back to previous iOS 15.2 as their was no problems their also my wife’s phone & her ipad

I usually avoid updating to latest IOS especially on my iPhone. My last one, iPhone 8 Plus, always had issues when I updated. Now I have a near new 12 Pro Max. I waited for some time before updating. Stupidly I decided to do it very early this morning. My device is in great condition. Battery health is 99%. I use it wisely ie: not on it for random searches and apps. Perfect running order. Never got hot or warm.

Battery charge never ran out, often getting 2 whole days from a full charge.

Immediately this morning I felt the device get hot. Not warm, but HOT. Charge dropped to 50% within 2 hours, of no use BTW.

Called Apple as YouTube was useless, and they told me the usual, do a reset, blah blah... nothing has helped. The last person told me to back-up files then delete data and re-install..... Jesus Christ!!! No guarantee this will work either, not do I have that kind of time free. I am sick to death of this from Apple. When they work it's great..... then this happens. And it is not an isolated occurrence.

Does anyone have any advice? Greatly appreciated and thank you.

And what's the % value here?...

I did the update yesterday because an app was not running right and the customer support told me my phone needed to be on 15.3 update for iPhone in order for my App Store run correctly.. worst thing I ever did ..now my find my phone dies every hour if it’s at 50% if I charge it to 100% then pull it off the charger its dead in two hours this is overwhelming especially sense I can’t use my phone reliably for anything especially with a new baby on the way and the app to monitor the babies room is on my phone!!!🤬🤬😡 Apple needs to fix it or I’m switching back to android. Has anyone heard of an update for a fix for this on his way ..or just more excuses from customer service that your apps are taking up too much space for it to run correctly?

To follow up on my previous post, I have an iPhone 6s running iOS 15.3. Here’s where it currently stands. I charged the phone to 100%. Disconnected the charging cable. Then within an hour the battery level read 1%. It has remained at 1% for just over 48 hours. The phone itself works normally. I can place calls, send texts etc. all the while the battery says 1%. It’s like driving a car with a broken fuel gauge. I cannot see the true power level of the battery. Very strange and I hope an update is released soon to address all of our battery issues with iOS 15.3.

A follow up on battery drain issue , well is worst , I did charge it to 100% when remove from charger it complete shut down , retry and open 3r time it works, but show me battery isn’t charge plug again , it show battery at 99% remove again from charger , shut down completely and same message plug to charger , , this is so frustrating, if Apple don’t know there is a issues with this update then ,,, Houston we have a problem , wish I could go back to the old update

bessy ~ 86% isn't too bad, but more importantly the battery is 4.5 years old and thus due for replacement. Also, the long process of applying an iOS update can strain a weak, aging battery and be the proverbial "straw that broke the camel's back".

I bought a new IPhone 13 pro from an apple store and set the phone up where I was forced to install IOS 15.3...the first 2 days were fine then today I lost 50% battery life in around 4 hours.Pretty ridiculous and apple need to sort this out!

Hello, am facing the same issue since i have updated my 12pro to 15.3. All those options which consumes battery are already turned off.

I have seen other people are also facing the same issue after updating, apple should look into this cause battery is very important component and i feel sick psycho when i see this abnormal behavior of my phone's battery all of the sudden.

Alancito~ I discovered a software addition with the new iOS that proved not compatible with the iPhone 6s which once turned off fixed the battery issue. I thank you for your help but a battery replacement was not necessary.
