How to download Apple Mail smart mailbox contents onto iCloud

Using Apple Mail on my iMac I have Smart Mailboxes.

These show up under their titles, for instance "London Trip", in my Apple Mail on my iMac.

In my iCloud the name of these smart mailboxes show up but they are empty; That is, the actual e-mail contents in these smart mailboxes have not synchronise with iCloud and the smart mailbox appears to be empty.

So when I travel to UK shortly with my MacBook Pro laptop, that device will not have these emails in them for me to access and I will not be able to draw them down from my iCloud.

There must be a way to resolve this problem.

Can anyone assist?

Alternatively can I transfer these smart mailboxes directly from my iMac to my MacBook Pro?

Thanks,

Nick.

See a thread Apple Mail not saving messages - Apple Community

Smart mail boxes are created on Mac mail application , they will never shown in iCloud.com , regarding normal mail boxes see a article Create or delete mailboxes in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

Definitely the network settings that were confined to your ISP router , you have moved your laptop to different country their network settings will be different , however you saved the mails in iCloud mail box .

If you were saving the mails in " on my Mac section " these will stay in mail application even you are in different country with different network .

Note : only normal mail boxes can exported from Mac and imported to another Import or export mailboxes in Mail on Mac - Apple Support , condition the two Macs be on the same network , smart mail boxes can never be exported and imported in another Mac .

Hello Nick,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are unable to get your Smart Mailboxes from your iMea to your MacBook Pro. We can understand why you'd reach out for a solution.

If you enable iCloud Drive, these mailboxes will be synced to every device. Here is more about that.

"If you use iCloud Drive, your Smart Mailboxes are available on your other Mac computers that have iCloud Drive turned on and Mail selected in iCloud Drive options. See Use iCloud Drive to store documents."

Cheers!

Hello there and thanks for your reply.

I actually have some mailboxes and some smart mailboxes in my Apple Mail account on my iMac.

I do have the iCloud Drive in Settings turned on on my iMac and on my MacBook Pro.

It still does not work though.

Those mailboxes and smart mailboxes still show up as empty on my MacBook Pro and in my iCloud on the Internet.
