Music and syncing with iTunes Match

Hi I’m using a MacBook Air and an iPhone 8 - all fully updated and with storage space available. when I add music from mp3 files on the MacBook, it syncs immediately to my phone . When I add a CD directly it does not. In my Music library I get different options when I right-click on mp3 imported and CD imported music. ( the first has a ‘remove download’ option, whereas the second does not). Manually selecting Update cloud library does not fix the issue.

See Identify cloud status icons in your music library on your Mac or PC - Apple Support. You need to resolved any issues with content labelled as waiting, error, etc. File > Library > Update Cloud Library may sometimes do it.
