Google Chrome Crashes on Monterey

Every time I try and sign into a Google Account on Chrome the browser crashes. I have multiple users set up on chrome for personal and business use and need to sign to use the different accounts. After upgrading to macOS Monterey version 12.2.1 this issue has started to appear. I have re-installed Chrome, turned off hardware acceleration, cleared the cache etc, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. This is just one of the many bugs that have appeared after upgrading to Monterey!

I would also try creating another User. Log in under the new user and see if problem persists.

What model and year Mac?

I did that, still facing the same issue. Also uninstalled and reinstalled chrome. Uninstalled and reinstalled monterey as well.

mac is MacBook Pro 13 inch with touch bar 2016.

I have the same issue, Chrome and Firefox do not work after Monterey 12.2.1 upgrade.

Openning those apps kills the computer, everything stops working

The upgrade to 12.2.1 is not the cause. That's where my Mac is now and every app works as expected. Including Firefox.

It's a necessary evil when teaching/ providing therapy virtually. Google Chrome zaps all the memory. I had to remove extensions and monitor my usage.

Were you ever able to figure out how to fix this issue? I have been unable to use chrome for months and apple does not know the solution for it.
