AppleTV subtitles keep turning off

Subtitles keep disappearing every 30 seconds, sometimes less, and don’ come back on on their own. If I pause and/or rewind, they come back for a few seconds then go away again. The first time this happened the languages seemed to go crazy: audio changed from English to French on its own, then back to English (subtitles weren‘t even in French).

I have tried restarting, turning them off then back on, changing subtitle language and various combinations of these, and nothing has worked.

It is completely unbearable to watch it like this.

Are you seeing this behavior across multiple devices?

Does this happen with multiple shows/movies, or only certain ones?
