Apple ID password not accepted in App Store on iMac

I am able to sign in on my devices, and even my iMac with my Apple ID and password, but the App Store does not accept the password. I can access info on my phone and iPad in the App Store, but when I try to View Information in the App Store, it repeatedly takes me back to the sign in screen - Anyone else have this issue?

iMac Line (2012 and Later)

Thanks. I have found that the partial fix no longer works on my machines, and account accessible only through iPhone.

Apple Support now suggesting it might be a permissions thing and suggesting Recovery Mode restart and disk first aid...not had time to follow up this suggestion...

I asked Apple if they check things on their side as it seems a bit odd to me that something that was working fine a few days ago is now problematic, with no changes on my side.

Seems to be solved on my machines this afternoon.

Had a number of calls / messages with different levels of advisor today and not sure if they did anything, or it's just a coincidence. First machine sign-in worked on again is 2019 Imac with Catalina.


One thing I noticed that I hadn't seen before is my router now uses IPv6 and seems to have been changed automatically by my internet provider (not sure exactly when). Whether or not this might have been part of the problem I have no idea.
