iFit is not writing to the Health app

Hello!

Back in September 2021, iFit became a connected App to Apple Health. And it worked flawlessly. All of a sudden, in the last week and a half, this isn't working.

Apple Health is still writing to iFit, but iFit is no longer writing to Apple Health.

I have been in touch with iFit and yes, I've done it all! Deleted the iFit app, added it back, made sure it's showing as a source of data for Apple Health, but still no luck. So now I'm curious if it's an Apple Health thing.

I count on my iFit workouts to close my rings each day. Help!

And while we're at it... any idea why an Indoor run and what my treadmill tells me I've run never match?

I am also experiencing the same issue, IFIT workouts stopped updating in health app as of 2/14/22. Worked great updating all workouts up through 2/13/22. I have made no changes to permissions and verified that connection between IFIT and health app are all set correctly. Please advise.

Good news -- you can input the data still. If you go to Apple Health>Workouts there is a button on the top right to "Add Data." One thing I learned (Watch users especially) is to take care to match the time up else it may affect your rings, for example if I run at 8a for :30 but put it in for 9a it will double the exercise minutes since your watch will have sensed the exercise.

I also see the Apple Health data in the iFit app.

I have also tried using the Apple Fitness app to log from my watch--and I prefer this but sometimes I forget to stop it. :) The Fitness app is the only way I've found to track rowing, there are several other apps that can log running to Apple Health like Pedometer++(equal to Apple's app, but run/walk/hike only), ECHO (great for heart rate tracking in iFit for Watch users, so-so for tracking workouts). I use AllTrails for hiking which logs fine presently.

You can log any of the workout types manually but I find it tedious, especially because you can't edit an entry, you have to delete/do-over. (Apple Feature Request>Edit Apple Health Workouts please!)

I'd be interested to hear any other workarounds folks have found.

All,

This happened when the iOS 15.3.1 update was released. Prior to this ifit would write to Apple Health flawlessly (more or less). After the update was installed, it stopped. Check when this was installed on your phone. I noticed there is a new 15.4 update so perhaps this issue was fixed there but I have a feeling that it isn’t since Apple and Ifit are claiming to not know what the problem is and making everyone waste their time deleting and reinstalling and checking things.

I had another idea to try and work around the issue of the iPhone app not writing workouts to Apple Health when using the iPad. I thought I would try the AppleTV app, but it also (presumably) has the same issue and will not write to Apple Health. I will say the AppleTV app looked pretty cool--and once it works properly I'll explore it more.

Please keep logging cases to iFit to get their attention.

Your IPad never wrote to Health.

1- If you use your iPad or the screen on your device, the IPad or the local screen write the work in the IFIT cloud.

2-When you open the IFIT app on your iPhone, the app get the work from IFIT cloud and send it to Health. This is what is not working now.

I do not know many people using the iPhone directly because the screen is too small.

IFIT was doing a new version almost every month before. But since we have this problem (3 months) there is no new revision of the app. There must be a serious problem!!!

1. I am sorry I miss wrote that my iPad wrote to apple health. I understand that it doesn’t do this directly and that it goes through the phone and that writes to health.

2: Now you know someone who uses their phone. It is small but what does it matter if I use it?

I was just trying to let everyone know a way I found around the issue and being able to use your ifit with your iPad and having these workouts contribute to closing rings.

I understand how it works. Thanks for your input.

I got this email today. It is coming.

Thank you for contacting iFit! We have had a recent update, it has not fully gone out yet, so over the next few weeks, check often for that update. Once you have that update, Go ahead and uninstall the app, make sure you phone is fully up to date and then reinstall the app and try again!

I have had this problem for the last week or so. Just stopped working. Multiple support tickets with ifit. Tried all the solutions here, resetting app data, remove and reinstall. Very frustrating.

I just found a work around. I am using Strava as a bridge. Add Strava as a connected app in ifit (and Strava connected with Apple Health) and boom rings closed! Your workouts go from ifit -> Strava -> Health -> Fitness. It can take a couple minutes for it all to update, but has worked well for me for both spin bike and treadmill

iFit is now stating that (we) I have past workouts on (our) my calendar and that is the problem--except I do not have any past workouts on my calendar. That's all they have managed to offer since the app update. On a related note, specific to the iPad, has anyone else noticed the iFit Calendar is completely broken? iPad only, not phone or web browser, it will not load. I've tried a couple different Wifi's, cellular, no luck.

It is mid June and still no fix. Interestingly though, mine was working til June 9 then suddenly stopped. I am on iOS 15.5 currently. I’ve tried everything, but fully delete everything related to iFIT (including past workouts) from the Health app. I was wondering if anyone has tried that. When mine first stopped working, upon checking the Health app, iFIT was marked as “inactive”. I did toggle it to “active”, but it did not help either. My last resort, like I said, is to fully remove everything that is stored in Health related to iFIT. I just have the feeling that it is not syncing anymore because there is an old broken connection preventing it from saving new workouts. I would expect that, starting an entire new connection, would fix the problem. So, has anyone tried that yet? Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Can confirm that the free version of Strava is a decent workaround as it will automatically import from iFit and export to Apple Health. You don't even need to keep the app on your Home screen or use it, just install it and go.

I'd prefer to see the issue addressed directly so iFit & Health can communicate again but this is a suitable stopgap.
