iFit is not writing to the Health app

Hello!

Back in September 2021, iFit became a connected App to Apple Health. And it worked flawlessly. All of a sudden, in the last week and a half, this isn't working.

Apple Health is still writing to iFit, but iFit is no longer writing to Apple Health.

I have been in touch with iFit and yes, I've done it all! Deleted the iFit app, added it back, made sure it's showing as a source of data for Apple Health, but still no luck. So now I'm curious if it's an Apple Health thing.

I count on my iFit workouts to close my rings each day. Help!

And while we're at it... any idea why an Indoor run and what my treadmill tells me I've run never match?

I have had this problem for the last week or so. Just stopped working. Multiple support tickets with ifit. Tried all the solutions here, resetting app data, remove and reinstall. Very frustrating.

I just found a work around. I am using Strava as a bridge. Add Strava as a connected app in ifit (and Strava connected with Apple Health) and boom rings closed! Your workouts go from ifit -> Strava -> Health -> Fitness. It can take a couple minutes for it all to update, but has worked well for me for both spin bike and treadmill

I had another idea to try and work around the issue of the iPhone app not writing workouts to Apple Health when using the iPad. I thought I would try the AppleTV app, but it also (presumably) has the same issue and will not write to Apple Health. I will say the AppleTV app looked pretty cool--and once it works properly I'll explore it more.

Please keep logging cases to iFit to get their attention.

iFit, unfortunately, does not yet have an app for Apple Watch. So Indoor Runs are just Indoor Runs on my Apple Watch via Workout. But this is a side question... I was just curious if there was some way to synch my treadmill miles to my Indoor Run workout - as they vary - but a lot!

But this doesn't matter when the iFit app is writing to Apple Health.

Same problem here. It worked with IFIT till 2/21/22 and on 2/22/22 it stopped to work.

Usually, when it was not updating fast enough, I open the IFIT app and look at the calendar to see if the workout is there. If the workout is there, I open the health app an refresh. Then open the rings app and it was always there. But since 2/22/22 it do not work.

@Ncat - that's a whole other nit! Why do my treadmill runs get logged as Outdoor runs when iFit did write to Apple Health?! But still not the issue here... I'm 3 weeks into my iFit workouts (runs only) not writing to Apple Health.

I have support ticket in (3 weeks ago) to iFit support and haven't heard back. I tired the Twitter DM route, but they couldn't help either.

Yup, same. Any ifit activity I complete on my iPad or iPhone is not synching over to Apple fitness. I’ve tried every ‘fix’ imaginable, different devices, reboot, uninstall, re-establish permissions.. nothing works.

Apple health does update the iFIT calendar, so when I initiate a walk, run or row from ‘workout’ on my watch, this does get written iFIT, so I can only assume it’s the ‘write’ element from iFIT to Apple that’s broken right now.

Update from me today… Apple Health did not write to iFit. No big deal, as I usually delete these so that it’s not showing double minutes and miles in my iFit profile, but interesting that now it’s not working either way (iFit to Apple Health or Apple Health to iFit).

Let’s hope this is because iFit is updating their software/app.

I’m officially at a month of this not working. Hate that there seems to be more and more of us…

And now iOS has updated to 15.4... this is never going to get fixed at this rate.

Interesting bit from iFit Support:

In the iPhone app

Settings

Maintenance

Reset App Data

Yes

This didn't fix the problem, but it did go back and add Apple Health data to my iFit data in the app. You know, where it makes it look like you did everything doubled... I always delete these, and even now when I try to delete them, it keeps adding the data back.

I wonder if Garmin Connect is having this same issue?
