Screen Time not working on Tiktok, Snapchat, Instagram?

Screen Time not working on Tiktok, Snapchat, Instagram. I've been trying to block these apps for months. I've tried everything from factory resetting the phone to getting a new phone and still those app will continue to work after the downtime and app limit. Ive seen other questions about the issue and it seem that Apple doesn't have a fix nor are they trying to fix a common issue. So what other option for controlling those apps on ios devices?

I figured it out. I had the same situation with my child's phone (iphone 11 ios 15.4): instagram, tiktok, twitter, pinterest.. all these apps where not blocked. Removing screentime, rebooting, changing time limits didn't work. Try the following:

  1. Go to Screen time on your child's device.
  2. Click on Always Allowed.
  3. Approve all the apps that you want to block (in my case I added all social media apps)
  4. Once you add all the apps go back to the previous setting screen and then close the window (swipe up)
  5. Open again screen time and now go to the Always approve and remove the apps from the always allowed list.
  6. Go back to the previous setting screen and close the settings app (swipe up).

This should fix the issue. Hope this helps. This worked for me :)

Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support doesn’t address how to limit access to specific websites, such as instagram.com. I’ve read elsewhere that when you block specific websites, it applies only to Safari, not other browsers such as Chrome or DuckDuckGo. I tested blocking specific websites with Safari, and interestingly, when I block instagram.com, it doesn’t work, but when I block other more mundane websites, it does work. Can someone explain why?

We’ve tried this with no luck, strange thing with us is that apps disable after midnight but downtime is set at 8. Time and timezone is set correctly but it’s very odd, i’ve found a slight workaround though to disable apps. If you select no apps allowed or apps only up 9+ in content and privacy the apps disappear until you enable allow apps or change the age of the allowed apps. It’s a bit of a hassle but at least it allows us to turn the apps off at night or if she’s been on them too long.

All the same points as everyone here for me and it's infuriating. I can work with some quirks within screen time like having to restart it for things to load but when a feature is straight up not working and it's so blatantly obvious, now I have a major issue.

It's so clear that Apple and Snapchat are in bed with each other it's not even funny! And no one has to take ownership over it because everyone just makes a profit regardless. Support? hah! How about a death loop of not being to talk with anyone?

Snapchat is toxic in most ways but when used mildly appropriately, it can be a fun way to talk with people. It's a bummer it's about the money... Do better Apple, Jobs would have...
