Touch ID Rarely Works

I found a thread from 2017 with no answers, just wondering if anyone else has this problem in 2022. I have an 1Phone 7, bought it new sometime in 2018. The touch ID works for a day or so then it won't recognize my fingerprints. I thought it may be that my hands get dry. I've done every finger, I've deleted them and put them back in while having dry hands. I keep up with all updates. It never works for more than a day or two no matter what I do. I had my daughter put her print in there so she could open my phone when I want her to, same problem. Any ideas?????

Factory Settings:

Try the following: Restore your iPhone to factory settings . Important: back up your iPhone, first.

What will Occur:

Upon setting it up, it will ask you to create a new fingerprint.
