How to delete email hyperlink from cells in table using Mac Book Pro?

Double-click in white space in the cell after the text with the link so that the text with the link is selected within the cell.




Then type command-c followed by Edit > Paste and Match Style.




Or select the text with the link as in the first step above and choose Format > Edit Link from the menu and click Remove.

If you want to delete the link and the email address along with it

  1. Click in the cell, but not on the text, to select the cell
  2. Hit the Delete key


If you want to remove the link but leave the email address,

  1. Click in the cell, but not on the text, to select the cell
  2. Click twice in the cell, but not on the text, to select the text. Or use Command A to do the same thing.
  3. Go to the Format menu and click on Remove Link

This works one cell at a time. Not very useful if you have a whole column of these to fix.


I do not know a simple way to remove links from a column of cells other than with formulas. This requires a temporary column for the formulas then you copy the results and Paste Formula Results back to the original column. Maybe someone else has a better way or there is an AppleScript to do it.
