It is not the Mail app; it is your ISP server’s IP address. That happens if they allow too many spam emails to come from that IP address, so receiving servers block them. Contact your iSP to see about a different IP address.
Mac Mail is blacklisted, yet my windows laptop is not. Mail gets blacklisted once to twice per week on Mac in last four weeks. Doesn't sound like xfinity to me, but that's all I got.
Why does it come back in 24-48 hours? Do they figure out I'm not what they thought, only to repeat the process in three days?
It's because they assign IP addresses (servers) and change it when they deem it necessary. It's the IP address that gets blacklisted and it's not under your or Apple's or an app;s control.
Would you know why the same email account on a windows laptop on the same network doesn't have the same problem? It seems if it were the router, both would be affected at the same time.
Thank you for your inputs. It's difficult to believe our email has been hijacked when the Mac is only on for an hour or two each day at random times. Anyway, thanks for all the explanations.
