midi files have no audio on my MacBook Pro

Yesterday, I updated the operating system on my Apple MacBook Pro. I had been importing midi files from flat.io, which is an online service, into Audacity and have never had a problem. After the update, the midi files have no audio. The bars show no activity at all so it isn't as if it is muted. All other files (mp3, wav, etc.) work fine and the audio works for Spotify and any other program. It is just on midi files and I was literally using it right up until I did the update.
