My iPaid Air order was canceled

Tried to order Ipad Air online with Apple Account Balance and four gift cards. The order was canceled about a week later without cause. My Apple Account Balance was disabled. I spent an hour and a half on the phone to unlock my account. I had to wait 24hrs to re-order. When I tried to re-order as I clicked on the place order button it took me back to the delivery method page with the zip code information. It did that twice and then a message popped up saying "You have reached the maximum number of attempts. Please use another method of payment." I spent another half hour on the phone with Apple and no one could tell me what was wrong. They tried to put the account balance amount on new gift cards, but said they weren't able to do it. I was told to try and go to an actual Apple Store and see if the sales associates there could put my Apple Account Balance on gift cards and then use that to purchase the product. Has anyone had this problem? Will going to the store actually work. The closest store to me is about 45 minutes away, so I don't want to go if there is another way to solve this. Plus, I don't have much hope that the store employees can help me when calling Apple did absolutely nothing to resolved the issue.

Hi,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

If you are trying to pay with Apple ID balance + redeem gift cards upon checkout, first confirm that your Apple ID account is not disabled, nor does it have any billing issues.

If Apple Support was able to resolve the issue with your Apple ID balance and it is now active, I would recommend two possible resolutions; and they both only apply if you have the original activation/redemption codes of the gift cards you applied to your Apple ID balance. Also, the Apple ID balance must have been redeemed recently:

Contact Apple Support and provide them your case number, WO# number (if you made it that far and received one for the order), and advise that you want to unredeem the gift cards from your Apple ID and place it back onto the original gift cards. This will remove the Apple ID balance and it will go back onto each original gift card used to redeem the balance.

  1. If able and eligible to be unredeemed, make sure that the number of gift cards you will be applying towards your order does not exceed eight gift cards, and try to place your order online again using the activation codes that now have the original balance placed back on them. If you have eight gift cards to apply towards your order, you may add one credit/debit card to complete the order, if needed.
  2. Visit the Apple Store and complete the order in-person using eight gift cards only.

These are not guaranteed or official resolutions, and may not apply in your specific situation. For more information on how to properly place your online order, see Payment, Financing, Refunds and VAT - Shopping Help.

Hopefully this helps.
