Music player pausing briefly between songs after iOS 15.4 update

Hello, I noticed after the 15.4 iOS update earlier this week that the music player doesn't consistently move from track to track seemlessly like it should. It often (though not always) inserts a very brief pause between songs. Naturally this is very annoying when listening to music that moves seemlessly from one song to another, such as during a live recording. Is this a known bug?

Hi, I'm having the same issue with my 7th generation iPod Touch after updating the iOS. Music randomly adds a few seconds between songs, especially when I skip tracks. The next song starts playing with a small glitch, just like a scratched CD. The iPod is connected to the car speakers through Bluetooth, so this also translates into loud "pops" as if the iPod is turning the audio output off and on again. This is unacceptable for an expensive device whose main function is to play music seemlessly.

Hello, I don't actually use any streaming services (or know where to find one offhand that'd have music that moves seemlessly from track to track) - everything I listen to is already on the phone itself. However I can say that I have this issue regardless of whether cellular data is on or off for the Music app. I also have not had the problem while using headphones like the other poster reported, whether using cellular data or not - only when listening over Bluetooth, either at home or in the car. Thanks.

I have been having the same intermittent issue with my devices since the last IOS update. It is happening on iTunes purchases I’ve downloaded as well as CDs from my personal library. It is so annoying when listening to live performances and concept albums that I have had to stop listening to them. I have tried every suggestion here and nothing has resolved. It occurs with all devices, whether or not they are made by Apple. Certainly rules out purchasing/downloading any new music that would appeal to me. Perhaps time to go back to vinyl and CDs🤔

I've been using a 10 hour rain album for months that contains 6 minute tracks that I play for my son's naps and overnight. I did the update a few days ago and immediately regretted it. It is extremely jarring with the pause between tracks but I've also noticed that now my phone's notification noises play even when on silent and using focus specifically because I'm using it for my son while he's asleep.

I've got the same issue since 15.4.1, album tracks that should not have gaps suddenly may (or may not). It's beyond infuriating as music is something people generally listen to got relaxation and suddenly being pushed to troubleshooting basically kills the vibe dead.

I'm really hoping Apple fix this because tbph it's got me looking at alternative players and music sources, and could even lead me away from iOS as music is my major driver and generally as the platform tries to chase Spotify it's been getting progressively worse for me.

Same here. Ever since the most recent update I have been having the problem intermittently. No rhyme or reason as to why it does it. All of my music resides on an older iPhone 8 Plus. Other than a few apps that I run using wifi, it's really being used as a glorified iPod. I use an iPhone XR as an actual phone. The majority of the music is techno that's mixed from one song to the next without a break. I never had an issue until recently. I can't pinpoint a reason why it's doing it. I have had it happen between two songs, backed it up to hear the glitch again but then it works fine as it goes from same song to the next. WTF??? Obviously there is a glitch in the Matrix. I have a different music program on my 8 plus that I will try for the next couple of days. It's called "EQu". Hopefully this will run without issue. This is also happening with my wife's XR. So annoying!!!
