Apple Watch 7 slow charging with Belkin BoostCharge PRO after 8.5

I can confirm this has started happening to a Series 3 on WatchOS 8.5.1.

From time to time, when I put it in the Belkin BoostCharge PRO 3-in-1 it is detected and starts charging, but it stops after maybe 10-15 seconds.

If I hard-reset the Watch (pushing the crown and button together for a while), after booting it charges normally again. This stays that way maybe for a day or two, then starts behaving the same way again until I hard-reset again.

It happens both if the watch is low on battery and if it is not (i.e. at 75%).

Apple, please issue a fix for this. It's driving me nuts!

I can confirm that on 8.5.1 everything is back to working as expected even on the Belkin charger.

The problem is completely solved. Just update watchOS to version 8.5.1.

Try hard-restarting the watch (push crown + side button until it restarts), that seemed to do it for me.

Seems to be fixed with watch OS 8.6 :)

I can also confirm, the boost pro stopped charging my Series 7 altogether after updating to watchOS 8.5. It’ll charge normally on Apple chargers, but the Belkin fast charger recently released no longer works. Considering the absolute desolate landscape that third party fast charging for Series 7 is currently, how quickly Apple releases a fix for this is critical for Belkin and others to keep customer trust.

It sounds like this may be isolated to the Belkin itself since everything works as expected with the Apple charger. You should reach out to Belkin directly to see if they have additional troubleshooting options to help with the charger.

Mine has been fine since I rebooted it, seems to me that it's the same issue they fixed a few versions ago and it has crept back in...using the original Apple fast charging cable that shipped in the box.

Tested by placing watch on charger, then after a pause removing it, then putting back on and it charged 35% in 30min

Someone suggested today that turning off ‘Optimize Battery Charging’ might be a temporary fix for this! Worked for him! I’m going to try it tomorrow when I need to charge.

Disabling Optimized Charging seemed to fix this for me too.

update 8.5.1 has been released, looks like fast charging fixed but need more testing

I have the same issue after updating to watch os 8.5 with an Apple Watch 7, I think it is a software issue as I have another Apple Watch 7 running watchOS 8.4 and it charges fast, I tested them in 2 different belkin chargers. The 8.5 charges 10% an hour and the 8.4 charges fast as usual in both of them.

Odd, works every time for me and been doing it for awhile.

I put in on the charger, wait a couple of seconds for it to go to the Green Time screen, then remove and wait till it flips to normal time and then replace on charger.

I have the same problem with my Belkin BoostCharge under WatchOs 8.5.1.

Apples Lightning charger works without any problems.

It's really dissapointing, that Apple doesn't fix this huge bug with 8.5.1...
