Apple Watch 7 slow charging with Belkin BoostCharge PRO after 8.5

I have a Series 7 (only watch that supports fast charging) and using the puck that came with it and the recommended power supply I have never had a fast charging issue.

I only have the issue with the Belkin fast charger 3 in 1 and only since watchOS 8.5

Re-seating (as described above) is the only thing that works consistently for me with the Belkin

yea i hope theres an update, the way all my chargers and cords are new and the slow charging is stupid, shouldnt have to reseat or do troubleshooting to charge it, thought this update would fix it

Are you sure it isn't a problem with your cord or the power adapter you are using? Which power adapter are you using and are you using the USB-C charger cord?

If you aren't using the Belkin why are you threadjacking this?

thread jacking? there isnt exactly a thread for the original charger issue after the update i just got a new usb-c charging cord, and i am using using a third party charger still a delay i will gladly put up a thread addressing this issue then and the power adapters are brand new

Yes, threadjacking. The people with the Belkin's have a serious issue and posting things that are unrelated dilutes the thread. If you can't find a thread regarding the problem you are having then you start your own thread.

Same issue but with an AW series 6. And software 8.5. It doesn’t detect charging AT ALL.

Tried another AW series 6 that’s not on the latest software and it charged no problem.

incredibly frustrating.

I can also confirm the same issues. It was totally fine and fast charging before the update but now it is incredibly slow on the Belkin boost charge pro 3-in-1 charger. Works fine on the apple charger but yeah only started having issues after the update. WatchOS 8.5.1 also doesn't seem to have corrected the issue yet. Will leave it on the charger for 30 minutes and it only went up 2%.

I tried the reseating advice that Belkin put out (mentioned yesterday on this thread) and it worked, not only then but even this morning (without having to reseat).

I didn't update past 8.5.1 not make any other changes other than seeing the charger down flat (as opposed to standing up for nightstand mode). It's working as advertised this morning, finally.

Can you post again in about 24 hours to confirm that it’s fixed for you and not a fluke?

what do you attribute the fix to? What changed? I haven’t seen a watch update past 8.5.1 and obviously the belkin charger doesn’t update.

I feel ripped off. I bought the Belkin charger only a few months ago. Everything worked great with my AWS7/Hermes and then the update. Seeing all of this makes me feel so frustrated. I hope this gets fixed. My Belkin charger worked great and is now useless for my watch…the item I bought it for!

I’ve had 3 consecutive successful fast charging attempts after turning “Nightstand Mode” off... So far so good! 🤷🏻‍♂️🤞🏻

Maybe this is a bug related to Nightstand Mode?!?

I noticed it kind of gets “stuck” in Nightstand Mode so that’s what made me think to try turning it off… when my watch is on the charger but not charging, picking it up does not release Nightstand Mode all the time - the nightstand display will rotate, but the watch face doesn't return - it can take a few minutes for it to return.

After updating the Apple Watch 7 to WhatchOS 8.5 it stopped fast charging with Belkin BoostCharge PRO.3 in 1. It used to charge very fast and now is very slow if not unusable. Any idea of how to solve this issue? I went into the Apple store where I bought it (6 weeks old) and they tell me it’s not there problem !

I tried hard resting and infact also resetting the belkin boost charge device as well as per the instructions and also unpair and repair the watch the fast charge started working on original apple cable but not with belkin boost charge and sometimes it is not even charging . it shows the sign but it remains stand still .

The only thing that works for me is reseating the watch (taking it off the charger.. wait a few seconds... put it back on)

since this product is 150 dollars, I shouldn't have to do that... so, I found that if you turn off nightstand mode, it fast charges every single time. no reseats needed.

I understand you shouldnt have to turn off any features for something to work, but it is a workaround that doesn't require reseating the watch.

hopefully apple stops breaking things with each update, that would be fantastic.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but the nightstand mode trick worked for 2/3 days for me then stopped working. :(

The only method that has consistently worked for me is monitoring the charge to see if the % goes up and if it does not, take it of the charger and wait for it to realize it's no longer on the charger then place back on.
