Lightning Digital AV Adapter Not Working on iOS 15.4

In my case. I bought a second hand cable from a guy, and it does not work. Then I got a new one from Apple Store, it works. I think the previous cable is fake, it might works on some specifix iOS device/version but not the latest. So, check your cable origin first. BTW, authen cable always reveal a blue sign in status bar when connecting and in General > About will show AV Adapter accessories line

Are you able to test the iPhone 12 to another Mac? Since both the iPhone XR and 11 Pro Max connect it could be the iPhone 12 itself we want to rule out. Also, Restart the iPhone 12 with these steps and try the connection again:

1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.

2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.

3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

Restart Your iPhone.

Hi, i have exactly the same issue, but on iPhone SE (2020)

before update to iOS 15.4 it worked, after update on 15.4 it does not.

When testing with my old iPad (ios 12), it works as usual.

This has to be related to iOS 15.4. Please relay this to dev team and find a solution - for me it is quite an issue.

Same problem. Have iPhone 12 Pro running 15.5. Checking Settings -> General -> About, not recognising the adapter. iPad Pro 1st Gen (15.5) works, iPhone 13 Pro (15.5) works. Must be a bug with iOS

Similar problem. Just purchased the HDMI adapter (paid over 2x the amount for Apple, as I’d hoped it would “Just Work”)

When I plug it into my iPhone 12 mini, nothing. I’ve tried hard reset even.

I finally got the idea of trying another device, and plugged in an iPad (same iOS, 15.6.1) and I see the green symbol and screen mirrors.

Unplug, plug in the iPhone… nothing. I can’t find any relevant settings differences. It is like the iPhone just doesn’t recognize it. The iPhone charges, links to my Mac for data transfer, plugs in for audio in the car, etc. so the Lighting port seems fine.

In my opinion, this could happen due to multiple iOS updates without clear factory settings and this may set some inside options to false. Or I can think we made some extra privacy options true which indirectly block this type of screen sharing.

I have the same issue. My adapter was working until upgrading to IOS 15 on iPhone XR. Now It does not get recognized. it works fine on my older iPads.

It is concerning how Apple support has been very quiet about this. Is it because they are releasing the HDMI adapter II in the market?

Upgraded to IOS 16. Prime, paramount, and Hulu have all had problems using my AV adapter. No issues with hbo, Disney, or Netflix.

Here are a couple of things that might help others answer your question:

• Does the problem happen when you're attempting to use the Lightning Digital AV Adapter within a specific app on your iPhone 12? If so, what app(s)?
• Do you see an error message? If so, what does the error say?
• What version of the iOS software do you currently have installed on your device? You can find this in Settings > General > About.

Same here, when I tried to connected with Elgato HD60S+ with 4k Capture Utility Software on my PC, it does not work no more on my 12 Pro. But, It worked on my friend 13 Pro Max, I don't know why this causing. Apple is now suck in this problem and can't even give correct and accurate solutions to user's problems. Hey Apple do something on this please. :((

Same problem here latest O.P. system on iPhone X no picture, no sound, not recognizing the adapter! Wife’s iPhone 13 works fine. Mine did too before update a while back. Latest update didn’t fix the problem.

Have Apple 12 Mini with 16.0.2. My Lightning Digital Adapter stopped working (no audio) after upgrading to 16.0. Upgrading to 16.0.2 didn’t fix audio. Have restarted the 12 mini but has no effect.

my iPad (5th Gen) has 15.7 and continues to work properly with the same adapter, I. e. Both video and audio work using same TV.

I have the same problem but my wife’s phone is fine. I have an 11, wife has 11 Pro. We both have iOS 15.4.1
