when i checked storage in setting it is showing around 15 gb used by apple mail app. So i deleted the app as its way too much for an app. But even after deleting this mail app storage still shows same amount used.

When you deleted the app, did you offload the app? If so, this would delete the app but keep its documents and data. If you would like to remove all its content, when visiting the screen that is showing in the screenshot, tap on Mail and you should see the option "Delete App". This will remove the app along with its content.

Did anyone ever get an easy way to fix this issue? Mine is using up 25gb, apple are a joke
It is very sad that this is the only way to get Mail.app to reduce its size - deleting and reinstalling it again.
It works, but sad that iOS has become such a mess.
