I need to remove a device from trusted devices

I need to remove my lost (possibly stolen) iPhone from trusted devices ASAP as I am concerned about my data even though it is password protected and I've changed passwords of my accounts - apple won't seem to let me remove my iPhone as a trusted device and I apparently have to wait 5 days for them to verify my identity (oh the irony...)? How do I get around this? And how can I get access to my iCloud photos without my iPhone?

Thanks :)

Trusted devices are ones that can receive the 2 Factor authentication codes when trying to access your Apple ID.. They have nothing to do with your data or access to the specific device.

Removing it from your account, will make it usable by whoever has it. Keep it on your account, and mark it as lost as explained here: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch is lost or stolen - Apple Support

This will lock it, and make it un-usable, and all your data will be safe, and will not receive 2 Factor Authentication coxes while being locked.

If you were using iCloud Photos, you can log in to https://icloud.com with the Apple ID being used on the iPhone and use the Photos web App there to access your photos.
