MacBook Pro 13 inch 2017 flexgate

My MacBook Pro has a problem with its display for a couple of months now. I decided to search this problem up on the web and I found that this most likely is related to flex gate. A problem related to both MacBook Pro 2016 AND 2017 models. So today I went to the Apple Store in Amsterdam and they refused to help me for two reasons.

  1. According to the Apple website, the only MacBook mentioned is the 2016 model. I showed him articles and forum conversations from people who state their MacBook Pro from 2017 also had a flexgate problem.
  2. He told me that my display malfunction didn't look as a flexgate problem. I showed him pictures from the web where people had different types of flexgate looking malfunctions. He replied to me by saying that you can find anything on the web, including that the world is flat, hence you can't believe what others on the web are saying. In conclusion, he refused to help me.

Am I in the wrong? To me, it looks like a flexgate problem. I added some pictures. I felt quite powerless today. It would be amazing if someone could give some good legitimate advice. It would give me some leverage the next time I'll stop by the Apple Store in regards to this problem.

What exactly is fixed about the program? Because that’s not how they worded it to me. They didn’t consider my defect as flexgate at all.
