iTunes 12.12.3.5 on Windows 11 crashes when selecting iPhone summary

When I connect my iPhone to my PC, I can see it is connected in iTunes and is automatically backing up the iPhone. The backup completes just fine and I can use iTunes and play songs without issue. However, when I click the little iPhone icon near the top left of iTunes to view the iPhone summary and configure the synch settings, iTunes crashes after a couple of seconds. It did this with my old phone and still does it with my brand new iPhone 13 mini. It also does it with my wife's iPhone. I've tried following the Windows 11 Repair application steps, along with the Reset steps. Nothing has resolved the issue.

Windows, Windows 10

justin_900,

To clarify, when uninstalling iTunes did you follow the steps outlined below?

iTunes for Windows specifically does have separate components that need to be removed and it is recommended to do so in a specific order.

Given the nature of the issue we'd also recommend confirming iTunes has been fully removed using the tips under the "Make sure that iTunes and its related components are completely uninstalled" section prior to redownloading it from the Microsoft Store.

Cheers!

Hello abonko,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

To help resolve an issue causing iTunes to quit, please make sure you have any pending Windows updates installed on your PC.

To learn even more if the issue remains, have you already tried reinstalling the iTunes software?

Does the issue continue when using another port on the PC to connect your device?

Does a normal restart of your PC have any impact on resolving the issue?

We hope this helps.

Cheers!

My Windows PC is fully up to date, there are no outstanding updates. I have tried repairing, resetting and uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes. The issue occurs regardless of which port I use and restarting the PC does not resolve the issue.

It would be great if there was a logfile or something that shows the crash info. That way I could send you the logfile.
