Beats Fit Pro Wingtips tore off my right ear piece

Asking as my Fit Pro Wingtip has torn off of my right ear piece. I've had these for now less than 4 months and only use when traveling or on conference calls - so mostly for work. One day took them off and noticed that when sitting in the case that the right ear appeared out of position. Discovered that the wingtip had torn and is now faulty and not sitting properly. Anyone else gone through this as well?

Find it hard to believe that such a pricey headset has already broken with just normal use.

I have the same issue got it like 3 months ago, store said it was a physical damage and wont not be covered. I am sure many people will have this issue down the road. Apple should step up and own this design flaw and give people at least partial credit to get some other products or fix them for free. Come on Apple!

They are telling me the same thing that it's "accidental damage" I pointed out the clear design flaw and they said they will put a $99 hold on my credit card, send me a new bud, then determine whether or not they will charge me this $99. So, basically this is their roundabout way of charging me the $99 by saying they looked at the damaged piece. This is pretty poor

A few Apple reps put up with me pushing back and they agreed to have an engineer inspect my BeatsFit Pro. My saga continues because I sent BeatsFit Pro to them a month ago. So far I have only received one update that was just to say they don’t have a timeline because an exception was made. I appreciate what they are doing for my situation. But the lack of any transparency or expectations has left me underwhelmed. I have no clue when this will be resolved. My hope is that they identify an issue, get a new set of BeatsFit Pros back to me, and help anyone else experiencing this issue. The headphones are great. There is just this one critical flaw.

The exact same thing happened to my right headset and after going to the service center they said its physical damage so won't be covered in the warranty. This didn't make any sense as the internet is full of this same issue all over the place and apple not trying to own up to the manufacturing defects. It is sad that they want us to just throw them away or what after paying so much to buy these things. Just bad product design and bad support.

Had the same issue with mine as well. Apple store glanced at them and immediately went to this is physical damage and you will need to pay 110$ CAD to have them replaced. They are about 8 months old, incredibly disappointed with the quality of the hardware and the response from apple. They have solid electronics but the built material is sub par. Hello! I went to the Apple Store for an unrelated issue and thought to inquire about the wingtip issue as well and the Apple employee I was talking about this with told me that we should all report the issue to Apple via Apple Support so that there is a chance for a repair program to be launched based off what he saw with the whole keyboard situation.

Just wanted to share with everyone here so we can hopefully get taken care of.

Hello, Apple is saying that this is not covered by warranty and is considering it physical damage though we all know on this post thread it is not our fault….. I have called Apple several times and visited their store to try to explain… Honestly not a good experience and I hope Apple reconsiders their stance since so many people are also having issues.

However, I did learn on this post thread that Gorilla Glue works so that’s what I did and so far successful. I still think Apple should replace them and I shouldn’t be trying to fix my own expensive headphones that should still be under warranty…

Ocho1906, it sometimes depends on who assist you in an Apple Store. Personally, I spent the extra for Apple Care. I had zero issues getting a broken wing taken care of at the Apple Store. Best Buy can also take care of you too when it comes to repairing Apple devices. My understanding is that a repair at Best Buy will also allow to add Apple Care to a repaired device after you pay full price for the repair. This one issue is why I really tell people that adding Apple Care is worth the extra charge. I
