Apple Watch died 15 months in, AppleCare only covers my iPhone

I purchased an apple watch that suddenly died 15 months in, I thought I had apple care but have since found out that only covers my phone. Is there no credit card related protection? I can't believe I have to keep paying for something that just stopped working. It sustained no damage and I did visit the apple store but was told my only option was to pay $299 to have the watch sent away to be checked, which is not an option.

You would have to check with the credit card company that you used to purchase it to see if you have coverage. The Apple Card does not have such coverage.
