OS 12 Music

I uploaded a cd onto my Music app (in OS12) and when I play it back on my mac mini the next track starts immediately after the last one without any gaps in between. Does anyone know how to easily add a 5-10 second gap (or any gap for that matter) between each track. I do know that when burning a cd you can add the gaps between songs there, but it doesn't seem that you can do it when playing the album through the Music app.

Combining multiple tracks into one album title So over the years, I’ve downloaded a bunch of CD’s to my music library. Often, there will be two or three tracks that become separated from the primary title. So in my library there will be the individual tracks with the same cover art. In the past I was able to click on say the three tracks/covers, push a key then all would combine to one. It’s “Magic!” With each new iteration of Apple’s Music app the problem continues. Is there a new trick I can try? Plus, do u recall what key I click on to bring the tracks into one album as I described above? I want to activate the magic again. Gapless tracks, Crossfade, and random gaps I recently transferred a classical CD to my Apple streaming music via the app on my Mac. This CD has one piece of music spanning, say, 40 minutes. However, for research purposes the manufacturer (DG) made numerous gapless tracks to assist analyzing the score. In older versions of Apple Music, I could force these tracks to be "gapless." When played on a CD player, these tracks are continuous. However, once I transferred the album to the cloud, playback via Apple Music is chaotic. Some 1 sec pauses occur between tracks, in a random sort of way. The Crossfade playback is not appropriate since overlap is also not an option. How can I control this? I've deleted the album from the library and have re-ripped it, but gaps appear in other places. I'm afraid that this might be a case where a CD player is the only solution. Of course, the CD in question is from the 1980s, and manufacturers have ceased this track making. Any solution?

music app joining files I use the Music app to join audio files on a CD to make a consolidated MP3 file. A few days ago, the join CD tracks option disappeared and now I can't join them. I've had an issue before joining files if they got out of order. That's not the case here, they're all in the right order but when clicking on the geared wheel icon, to the right of the Import CD tabs, there's now only the options of Get Track Names or Submit CD Track names...the Join CD Tracks option was below them but no longer. Anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?
