I'm editing a video in iMovie. I want it to open with a transition, then the video starts. However, each time I add the transition, the audio starts with it instead of at the beginning of the video. Any idea how to fix this?

Add the transition and slide the audio clip forward. If there are several audio clips, select them all as a batch and slide the whole track forward.
Another way is to export (share out) the video without the transition, and then import it back into a newly created project and add your transition there.

As a workflow tip, it often is easier to add or adjust your audio clips after first completing the video edits. It keeps audio from getting out of sync when one makes changes to the video track.
