When my computer is on and sitting idle, out of nowhere it starts to make a repetitive clicking noise (similar to adjusting the volume) at random and it continues for a long time then will just randomly stop.
Should I be concerned?

As mentioned current model 24" iMacs do not have spinning HD's, they all use SSDs therefore the storage has no moving parts. About the only moving parts I can think of in a 24" is the fan assembly and I have never heard of one "ticking". My guess is the OP has some type of notification or other sound turned on. My recommendation to the OP is to contact AppleCare for assistance or to provide an EtreCheck report where we can look for any obvious software issues.

iMac (24-inch, 2021) does not have a hard drive. It just uses SSD flash storage, so the storage is not a problem.
In this case, 1+2 equals "get Apple to look at it before trying to fix it at home!"
A new machine should be flawless, so any issue should be considered unacceptable. Is it repeatable - that is does it still happen in safe mode or a new user account?
