Can't change the default mail application

I use Outlook for work on my Macbook Pro - and I'm trying to change the default mail application to Outlook, but no matter what I do in the Mail settings it still defaults to the Apple Mail program. I've tried rebooting, changing the default mail app to Mail and then back again to Outlook - nothing works.

Anybody have any idea how to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

You have to change the file association for .eml

On the saved .eml right click and get more info

scroll down to Open With and change to Outlook

You are welcome and thank you too.

Do come back to the Apple Support Communities ( ASC )  in the future, if / or when additional questions may arise

Now, if the user ( you ) have additional Saved .eml files and what to make Outlook the Default to open all of these file type all the time.

The next time you want to Open another saved .eml file do the same procedure, only this time use the Change ALL as per picture below
