Outlook for Mac email draft disappears while typing

Not the best solution but if you go to Outlook Preferences - Composing and select the 'Open new message and replies in a separate window' this works.

I have the same issue both on my M1 MBP and older Mac Pro, each using the latest version of Outlook. I suspect this to be an Outlook problem and not an Apple problem, but a Google search brought me here, so I thought I'd log my experience.

A - Current Monterey as of May 16, 2022 is Monterey 12.4

A - The current version of Catalina is macOS 10.15.7 and several Security Updated the latest being released May 16, 2022

Yes, this is happening to me, too.

It only started happening in the last week or so.

I find that I can sometimes restore the draft by closing and re-opening Outlook. It doesn't seem to happen when I revert back to "old" Outlook.

I'm betting it's an Outlook rather than a Mac problem.

I am having the exact issue on my M1 Mac Mini. I've tried uninstalling and reloading Outlook and switching to the old version of Outlook too. The problem still persists. Someone please help!!

I was having the same issue. I managed to fix the issue by going to the Outlook preferences / composing and selecting the 'Open new messages and replies in a separate window' option.

This needs a fix asap. Problem occurring on MacBook Pro 16" M1 Max. Outlook for Mac "New edition". This clearly is an issue with Outlook.

I have the same issue. OS Monterey 12.4 Outlook 16.61. Have tried using 'legacy Outlook' which doesn't play ball either. Resorting to using a browser which is not user friendly.
