Wireless Carplay disconnects at the same place on my commute with new iPhone 13

Sounds like you need to reset the connection as it’s still using wireless to run CarPlay and only charging through the USB cable (try turning off wi-fi and Bluetooth on your phone to test). I’ve also heard using an apple only usb can make a difference but I haven’t tested that.

Yes, I absolutely agree with you it’s RFI (radio frequency interference) , in my car without fail only happens on the same spot on the highway.

Not sure though if it’s Apple issue or device manufacturer.

Emailed manufacturer twice but other than Google translate sweet talk I guess from Chinese they only sent a link to reload firmware but same problem.

In my view it could also be car manufacturers who have not yet perfected Carplay into their cars

It is not a cell data signal issue. And it only happens in my wife's GTI, not my Mini Cooper S that also has CarPlay. It's also no where near where we live. So it's not related to geo fencing as some have suggested. It's the exact same place every time it happens.

And from everyone’s description of the problem it is caused by a source of local interference, and has nothing to do with Apple. And it is only specific car models, in addition, and different models of phones.

I’ve got a 2023 GLC & notice that the problem occurs when I pass an electric road toll ( Australia ). It seems that the car play auto mutes, but then it goes into a disconnect mode.

I’ve also had the same problem where CarPlay disconnects when I enter my car park.

I purchased wireless car play to my kia niro 2023 from Amazon for $60 same thing .It works for 2-6 min and it starting to restart and turn on again and this is annoying especially when you are on phone call than suddenly the phone call is disturbing I returned and get replacement same thing happened I have iPhone 16 pro In my option I will have to get usb and approved c cable and just connect by wire to car play

I have the same issue with an iPhone 8SE. Same spot everyday no matter which direction I travel. It has to be something interfering with the signal.

Same!! Audi told me it was to do with the wireless connection and they are waiting on an update from apple to fix it.. so now I can only use wired connection. Were you able to fix?

Yes, it’s location related. in my assessment due to some interference at that vicinity. And also not due to lack of cellular carrier coverage because it’s in the middle of town.

iPhone 14 Pro here, which happens on my Jeep Gladiator with wired CarPlay. Notice its when I switch between 5G, 5GUW, and LTE. Running iOS 16.3

Is there a helipad near the Tower of London? The site may also have ground scanning radar for security, which uses S band and overlaps with Bluetooth’s 2.4 GHz band.
