What is iOS Account Manager?

Hello there, I was checking my google account security settings and I found out that "iOS Account Manager" is connected to my account but I've no idea what it is. I tried to log out from my account on my iPhone but when I log into YouTube it still appears (so it might can be related to yt but idk why). I also logged into safari and when I check for new logins in my google account setting it just says that safari is connected. You guys have any ideas on what this account manager is? sorry for my bad english.

It’s totally normal. Everyone who operates a Google account from iOS devices will see this. Nothing is installed on anyone’s phones. It’s software that Google uses for managing logins on iOS devices. It’s a security measure so that you can see what devices are logged into your account.

Hey guys .. i have read most of the comments and arguments you wrote. Actually i am facing the same problem, but what I figured out its and application who IT people know it mostly and some clever guys who uses mac as well , there is something called apple configuration on laptops through this who has ur password or any physical contact with ur phone can manage ur phone .. on google or edge (Microsoft) browser make search for iOS account manager and you will find some answers also on apple site go to develop and codes something like that you will find ur answer. The only question that i have now is how to unlink my email from this ….:

The Apple Configurator requires that the Mac be logged into your Apple ID, or that your iPhone have an MDM profile. So unless your Apple ID has been compromised or you have such a profile it is a non-issue.

To check if you have an MDM profile: Go to Settings/General/VPN & Device Management. If you don’t see a profile you don’t have one.

To see who has access to your Apple ID→Checklist: If you want to see if anyone else has access to your device or accounts - Apple Support. If you see anyone you don’t recognize you can remove them. And also then review→If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support

iOS account manager has nothing to do with either of the above. It is a Google app that coordinates activities between the Google apps on your iPhone (Google Maps, Google Search, Youtube, gmail, Waze, Google One, Google Photos, etc) so you don’t have to log in to each one individually.

It is none of those things. You may have spyware on your phone if you have a profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management, or if someone had physical possession of your phone while it was unlocked, but that has nothing to do with iOS Account Manager, which is a Google service that protects your google apps on your phone from being hacked.

From:https://www.fireebok.com/resource/how-to-remove-ios-account-manager-from-google-account.html

The iOS Account Manager is Google Account Manage platform for iOS, which protects your account from hackers when logging in on your iOS device and using Google apps and services. It also reminds you that your Google account is being used on an iOS device.

You are likely to have it if you belong to a Google Workspace Group, or have a gmail account in the iOS Mail app, or other Google apps on your phone.

If you are concerned about spyware on your phone there is a simple solution: Restore your phone to factory settings, and set it up as a new phone without restoring a backup→Restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support

According to Google Support regarding “What is iOS Account Manager”:

”Do you mean 'iOS Account Manager'? If so, you'll need to seek support from Apple, as that is a system used by Apple to remotely manage devices via a company account. You may have been issued the device by a company or school, where the Admin there can advise you more about these settings.

If you have acquired a device, that already has a 'iOS Account Manager' installed, then you need to ask the provider of the device to remove the management, or to arrange a return and request a refund.” [Source]

Given the vast amount of unanswered and locked questions on the Google Community asking the same question, and the absence of an official statement by Apple on the origin of the application it should be regarded as suspicious.

If you are seeing Google Workspace imagery and references related to InteractiveLogin, ServiceLogin and Google API when logging in or using their services and you do not have a subscription with them then, you should raise this them via their social media account on X/Twitter (as there is no other way to contact them since you probably don’t know who is the Administrator).

Hello Riccardo2424,

Is this device your own personal device or a managed device? We'd check for any installed profiles and remove them: Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple Support

Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone

Configuration profiles define settings for using iPhone with corporate or school networks or accounts. You might be asked to install a configuration profile that was sent to you in an email, or one that is downloaded from a webpage. You’re asked for permission to install the profile and, when you open the file, information about what it contains is displayed. You can see the profiles you have installed in Settings  > General > Profiles & Device Management. If you delete a profile, all of the settings, apps, and data associated with the profile are also deleted.

If it wasn't being managed by a profile, then you'd want to connect with Google Support: https://support.google.com Since this is happening when you sign in to the Google account, they would be the best to answer this.

Wishing you well, cheers.

As you didn’t read the rest of the thread: NOTHING is spying on you. iOS Account Manager is a Google app that coordinates the various Google features that you have installed on your phone so you don’t have to log into each separately, such as Google Search, gmail, Google Translate, Google One, Google Photos, Google Chrome, Youtube, etc.

As you clearly didn’t read the thread you posted to, I will repeat what it has said over and over and over.

iOS Account Manager is a Google process that coordinates login between all of the Google apps logged in to your Google Account on your phone. There is nothing nefarious about it, it is not spyware, and it is not a government or industry conspiracy.

But if you don’t want to see it, just delete all of the Google apps you have on your phone.

You need to explain what “the same thing” is. There were many different issues in the post that you responded to, and it is very unlikely that you had all of the identical problems, so please list specifically what the issue is.

If it is iOS Account Manager that is a non-issue, as iOS Account Manager is a legitimate Google app that syncs all of the Google apps on your iPhone with each other.

You still here right?

The person to who you replied has not been seen in this thread since September 15, 2022.

As has been explained numerous times in this thread, iOS Account Manager is a Google app that coordinates the interactions between the Google apps you have on your phone, so you don’t have to sign into each one separately, and data you enter in one will be available to the other Google apps on your phone.

I’m still researching, so far I believe if an MDM has been put on your account it gives them full access to your device. Take a moment to read it. Seems to me it is answering what is- IOS ACCOUNT MANAGER If anyone can please tell me how to remove it I’d Appreciate it.

What are you still researching? Lawrence Finch explained twice on page four alone of this thread what iOS Manager is:

iOS Account Manager is a Google app that coordinates the various Google features that you have installed on your phone so you don’t have to log into each separately, such as Google Search, gmail, Google Translate, Google One, Google Photos, Google Chrome, Youtube, etc.

Beyond the fact that Google collects huge amounts of information on you and sells it to advertisers, there's nothing especially nefarious about it.

I’ve finally found this out after searching for 3+ months on & off!
Its a mac or iOS app that gives google access to all your calendars, app, emails & more….. To remove it you to go into your google settings & revoke access.
can’t believe after all the searching I did I stumbled across it by mistake!
Anyway….hope this helps 👌🏽👍🏽😊

That’s correct, it is a Google app that coordinates content between Google apps on your phone. That’s been posted before in this now 9 page thread, you would have to read most of the thread to find it.
