How to resolve Slow Email Opening on macOS Monterey 12.4

Thanks for tip, will check out. Probably just gonna limp along 'till year's end and upgrade the desktop. No issues with this on a newer machine running in the studio.

after a day the mail is still responsive. No time-outs.

So for sure there is no waiting for that nasty interface to central servers. [what a model]

Then boot into Safe Mode to run the fixes I described and then reboot normally and run for a while to see if the problem comes back. Safe Mode is really about the fixes run during boot.

Have you installed and run any "cleaning", "optimizing", "speed-up", anti-virus or VPN apps on your Mac?

Monterey 12.5 was released a few days ago. Have you tried it? It's available at the App Store.

I have a version 12.5 and that is when I saw a more serious issue with the problem.

I've had this issue ever since I received my MBP16. Monterey 12.4 was only released in May. This problem goes back at least as far as 12.2.

Yes, unfortunately. Even then.

My iMac 27 inch is from 2017. We used to praise Apple for staying the course for like 10 - 15 years or longer. And now they say that if it breaks in 5 years this is 'normal obsolescence'?

Mine is also a 2017 model. It's a shame.

I did the 12.5.1 install too. No change. Emails are frozen in time as usual.

Same here. The problem came back. And it stayed with today’s update.

Ohhh, that’s interesting. I too run avast. I’ll try this tomorrow morning at the office.

Can anyone else confirm: if you have this problem, are you, too, running Avast antivirus?
