Oesses,

If you boot your Mac into safe mode using the steps from this resource, does that behavior still continue from there? How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

It can take a few extra minutes to boot into safe mode. Your screen may flash or flicker while in safe mode. Those behaviors are expected. Testing in safe mode runs a check on your disk, removes some cached files, and can help isolate conflicts with startup items. Once you've tested that, you can restart your Mac in order to leave safe mode.

Let us know your results, and we'll keep moving forward from there.

I have a similar issue. Sometimes when I right-click on a jpeg and select "save as" nothing happens just as you said. You expect the dropdown box asking you where you want to save the file to, but nothing happens. I use an up-to-date Chrome browser. I find that, when I quit Chrome, I get this dialog:

After choosing "Quit," I open Chrome back up and I am now able to successfully save files... for a while anyway. It seems to happen after I've done a lot of this sort of thing including downloading account statements from my credit card company.

I'm happy that I found a work-around, but it is still very frustrating to have to do this on a somewhat regular basis. It has only started happening once I bought my new MacBook Air M1 2020. It never happened on my MBAir 2015.

Your last link talks about email.

I just drag the file I want attached into the body of the email, send it and move on.

I get trying to make a system work as "promised" but sometimes you have to make the result the ultimate goal and not the process.

Not being able to upload has inevitably for me been a server or ISP issue.

Screen recordings are just files. Maybe they're too big and the process chokes. Again, drag the file into the email body and move on.

Thanks dear

Yes the apps are updated with the latest update.

I had a call with apple support agent and she asked me to create a new user and try .

I don't think its user related as the issue is inconsistent...

For the same user sometimes everything works fine and sometimes i face this issue but what i noticed is that when i restart or close all apps everything goes back to normal.

Might this be related to memory issues ?

chuckbl,

The issue is inconsistent and I cant generate it whenever I want, the below screen recordings explains it all

https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/090erHd7xQx_iG5W_2xoXqoaA#screenrecording

Now even if im normally logged in I can get red of the issue by restarting and sometimes by closing the open applications.

Anyhow Ill try your advice and boot into safe mode

I noticed that the same issue has been reported by different users
