I was given an IPad Pro 6 months ago as a 40th anniversary present. The On-button is now stuck in and there is a tiny defect in the casing next to it. The IPad won't turn on. Apple say it will cost £599 to repair it and the Applecare I got with the gift does not cover this. Should I pay up, or perhaps buy a cheaper version and just scrap this one? Thanks

I suggest the repair option because:

  1. Sentimental value from a 40th Anniversary.
  2. If you ever want to sell or trade it, it needs to be repaired anyhow.
