Data - Wi-fi Conflict

This is a problem that seems to have resurfaced recently. If I'm away from my home wi-fi network and I do, say, a Google or Chrome search, I sometimes get a "No internet" message and, of course, the search fails. Why doesn't the search just use my cellular data?

Hey G-Man99,

Thanks for clarifying the issue.

It sounds like you may not have cellular data enabled for some apps. Here's how to check:

First, go to Settings > Cellular (or Mobile) > Verify Cellular Data is enabled at the top of the page.

Then, scroll down to where the apps are listed, and verify that the apps with the issue are also enabled.

We'd also suggest restarting your iPhone, then testing again.

Thank you. That looks like it may be answer. I'd never scrolled down far enough in Cellular to see all the app settings. Cellular was indeed disabled for Chrome which probably explains why I encountered the search problem (I tend to use Google/Chrome interchangeably). It was enabled for Google which explains why the problem seemed intermittent to me.
