How to hide the Quicktime 10.5 controls
On Monterey 12.4 and Quicktime 10.5 on my MacBook Pro M1 I have struggled to find how to hide the Quicktime controls when playing back a movie. Typically this is useful if you want to screen grab or just examine a single frame and want the controls out of the way.
Quicktime 10.5 does not have any preferences and the answer is not very obvious. I searched around and found many people looking for the same solution and only one clue that pointed to the accessibility features.
Here is the solution that worked for me.
Under System Preferences / Accessibility click the Options Button bottom right.
On that panel select "Fade panel after inactivity" and set the time you want.
Mine was default unchecked and when I checked it and set it to 5 seconds the Quicktime player controls dissapeared after 5 seconds when the mouse was off them.
