Can't Hide iPhone photos in "Hidden" album iOS 16

The Hide option is not there if the image has been added to the iPhone using iTunes. The Hide option is only there for images in the Recent album. It was available for ALL photos prior to iOS16.

Synced photos are not properly imported into the Photos Library. The cannot be adjusted and cannot even be deleted or hidden.You would have to save a copy of the synced photos to Photos, so they will appear in Recents, before you can do anything with synced photos.

I have ALWAYS been able to hide photos before iOS 16. I don’t want to edit or delete them. I sync my photos from my PC to my iPad and phone so they can be viewed. I hide some photos because either they aren’t for public consumption or because they are wallpapers and I don’t want them popping up in the Library view next to their non-wallpaper version.

In any case, this IS a changed behavior in iOS 16.

Not for photos that have been synced from the PC using iTunes. I’m on 16.0.3.

Lav24 - This does not work for photos that you synced *TO* the phone or iPad using iTunes. It only works on images that were taken on the device, usually those in your "Recent Photos" album.

I posted about this a couple days ago. It appears that it is only possible to hide photos from the "Recents" album. I can't hide any of the photos I sync to the iPhone (12 Pro Max ios16) using iTunes.

I haven't gotten any response from anyone about the issue.

These is no filter on the hidden album. Even if there was there can't be any photos in there since there is no option to hide them anymore.

The images were hidden before I did the iOS upgrade from 15.6.1 to 16 and were not hidden after and there is no way to hide them again.

The (...) button is NOT the key. I'm running iOS 16.2 and latest version of iTunes. I still can't hide images that have been transferred to the phone from my desktop using iTunes.

I can only hide images that have been taken directly on the phone.

If you have a passcode on your hidden photos you won’t be able to hide your photos. You have to go into the settings and take the passcode off in order to hide any photo.

The three dots doesn't contain the hide option for synced photos from iTunes
