So am I…not sure what to tell ya. Not sure about hiding them on your computer but on your phone it is super easy. I went back to my very first photo that has been synced and it still gives me the option to hide on phone. If trying to hide on computer, no idea what to tell you, i dont mess with that junk
I really wish people would read a few comments like "It doesn't work for pictures that are transferred TO the phone from iTunes" before replying that the hide function was moved to the 3-dot menu. I already know that the hide function was moved to the 3-dot menu. I also know that this doesn't work for images that have been transferred TO the phone using iTunes starting with iOS 16. You could hide images that had been transferred to the phone before iOS 16 and now you can't.
Maybe I'm weird but a LOT of the images I have on my phone weren't taken on my phone-as a matter of fact right now my camera roll is empty. And a lot of the images I took on my phone were transferred to my computer, processed in Lightroom and then transferred back. Those are the photos I can't hide. Some are wallpapers that I have a script to rotate through. Some are images that aren't for public consumption.
The point is that before iOS 16 I could hide those images so they didn't show up in the library and people couldn't browse the albums they were in. Now that doesn't work. I don't know if it is a bug or an intentional decision by Apple to change how Hide works.
So, yes I get it. Hide has been moved to the 3-dot menu. Great. Fabulous.
The issue is why I can't hide images that were transferred to the phone.
Haha!!
This thread is fast becoming a joke! I appreciate people trying to help but please read the thread. You will understand the issue we are having then you can replicate on your iPhone to see the problem.
I upgraded today to IOS 16.1.2. My hidden photo folder is empty if I want to send something. I can access the pictures directly. Can anyone advise please how to send them? It was always easy before today.
I'm having the same problem. I am also unable to hide photos from the albums synched over from iTunes. It was possible when I was on iOS15 but not now when on iOS16.
Exactly. I can still do it on my iPad Pro running 15.7.
Is there a place we can report this issue to Apple? I'd really like it to get fixed.
That was very helpful for ios16 I was loosing my mind looking for how to hide pics on iOS 16
I just installed iOS 16.1. This is still not working like it did in prior versions. C'mon Apple.
And of course, iPadOS 16.1 now has the exact same issue.
That works for photos I have taken on the phone but not for photos that I transfer TO the phone using iTunes.
I figured out how to hide them now on iOS.16
Not working for me either. iPhone on iOS 16.1.
Still unable to hide photos that have been synched over from iTunes.
