How to fix overexposure issues on iPhone 14 Pro Max Photos?

I purchased my IPhone 14 Pro Max today and it has an annoying over exposure that it does to all my photos. It look very different from what I'm seeing on the screen when I'm taking the photo. How do I fix this to get this automatic over exposure turned off?

So we are all agree that this is a huge problem!

Different comments pointing out same issues when we talk about photos:

  • Horrible HDR post processing
  • Insane over exposure
  • Extreme sharpening
  • Super grainy and desaturated
  • Awful contrast and lighting

On my side I think that buying a 1TB iPhone and shooting 48MP RAW isn't the solution nor turning off Full HDR View, I mean this should work flawless just out of the box.

I'm looking forward to any iOS updates (literally checking more than ten times a day) because this should be fixed.

Please raise your hand if you are having this same issue, we need a solution.

I have the 13 Pro and the front camera does exactly the same. It looks fine when you take a picture for just a second but then applies a horrible filter that makes you extremely sharp and orange. I tried the 14 Pro camera as well at the shop but it also was horrible so I stayed away. It s a shame that Apple allowed this to happen😢

I have tried every single tip they gave on this discussions, YouTube tutorials or reddit conversations and NOTHING solves this. The only thing that works is to snap photos in raw using third party apps. I personally find the Lightroom built in camera the best for taking photos in raw. It just hits perfectly.

The only down side of this is that it takes a lot on storage, but after tweaking them you get a pristine picture. All the work is worth it in the end. Of course we just wanted a quick camera for point and shoot moments without having to worry about all of those things but, if Apple itself won’t do it, we have to work with all we’ve got as of this moment 🫠😞

I am so sick of this! Many months people complaining, and Apple just doesn't care about us! In my country these phones are super ultra-expensive! I got deal on Black Friday and got the iPhone 14, but still not cheap at all. I used to have the SE 2020 but got water damaged, so had to replace it, and I chose the latest model thinking I would have the best camera I could get. What a surprise when I took the first selfie! Super horrible over sharpening, looked great while taking it, but when you go check it out in Photos it does some crazy post and ruins everything! Apple what is wrong with you???!!!! I bet this can be solved with an update, just do it ASAP! Please! I feel ripped off! :c

You see, as I'm reading all of this, having also the same experience as everyone here o worst, I don't know if it is everyone that has this issue with the iPhone 14, but just think to myself: "Is Apple really purposedly turning a blind eye to this terrible mistake, and won't offer a solution ASAP with an update or something?". I mean, it is obviously software related, knowing that we can see a really good quality while taking the picture, but after we go check it out in Photos, we then see it get broken by some kind of after processing...
