Car play doesn’t work on 2022 Chevy Tahoe

i have an iPhone 13 pro and a 2022 Chevy Tahoe and when I’m on call using car play and I get another call, the 1st call disconnects and I lose it. The 1st caller can still hear me though. I know others with GMC’s are having this issue. I tried all updates, etc. No resolution.

Hi Ed454ss,

For help with CarPlay test the steps below found in the article here: If you need help with CarPlay

"Make sure that your iPhone has the latest version of iOS. If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps — checking CarPlay after each step:

  1. Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:
    • If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
    • If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled under Settings > Wi-Fi and Settings > Bluetooth.
  1. If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display.
  2. Restart your iPhone and your car.
  3. Make sure that Siri is on.
  4. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions, tap Allowed Apps and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.
  5. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.
  6. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information."

As others with the same make are having the issue as well, contact the manufacturer to see if any firmware updates have been released.

If the issue continues, reach out to Apple Support directly to further assist.

No issues on my 2022 Buick Enclave. Since you’re saying others with a GMC has the same issue it would seem to point to the headunits needing a firmware update to work correctly. Check to see if an update shows in settings on your head unit to download OTA (if available. You may have other methods required for updates including downloading to usb via computer or having service dept install update). Otherwise you may have to alert GMC to an issue. Also look for a user forum for GMC to see what others are experiencing and if they found solutions or the appropriate channel to report the problem.
