Why did my iPhone 14 screen go black?

This is doing my head in x100! Ive tried everything to solve the issue, but alas shes still black!! Now my emojis & and visual content is like x-ray vision, which isnt what anyone is after! Come on Apple look how many folk are in the same position as I am

I have the same problem with my iPhone's black screen and I did follow the step-by-step volume up, down and hold power button but the Apple logo did not show. Tried many times already. Anyone can help, please

I had a similar experience when I woke up this morning. At first, I couldn't comprehend what was happening, but I'm relieved to know it's not just me. I went to search for my Apple Watch, which happened to be dead. As soon as I plugged it in and the watch turned on, my phone also decided to come to life.

Now the question is why hasn't Apple fixed this black screen of death issue?

thank you all! this same thing happened to me twice in the past few days. the first time, It turned back on once I plugged into my truck; and then today I googled and found this solution that worked. why hasn't apple fixed this bug? wth.

Black screen has happened twice to me after updating latest update. It’s horrible can’t see anything even when trying to restart phone. I wish Apple just stop these bs updates that are too often and messing up a $1,000 phone. Just happened again few minutes ago .

This problem still persists, I faced same issue in my iPhone 14 Pro Max, This was really very difficult to handle, I had charged my phone full night , I saw the screen was black early morning, I spent couple of hour to fix it then it started working.I am not sure the same problem may happen again, This is not expected from the company like Apple.

Here it is, 16 March, 2024, and this still has not been fixed by Apple. My iPhone 14 Pro Max is the first iP in 10+ years that has gone black while still on after recharging. Thanks for the volume up/down tip. Did not know the phone could be turn off without the SOS appearing. Guess there’s some good that came from this alarming development.

Omgggg THANKKK YOUUUUU SO MUCH!!!!! I was literally just going crazy until I grabbed my old phone connected to Wi-Fi in my house and did a Google search on why my phone turned black, well the screen and I’m so fortunate to have came across your answer because it worked! This just happened to me! Thank goodness for the Apple community. This was a replacement phone from VZW, my original was perfect (till is got crushed). Thanks for the post. This worked, my phone is back to normal.

Same with me, it’s annoying. I try to turn off the phone it takes some minutes, or someone is calling me in the morning the phone vibrates and the screen is totally black. When I’m able to turn it on I have the missed call. I hope they fix it soon. On the top of that I always had iPhone and they never froze, this one is other ways, it’s always freezing almost unbelievable

It just happened to me but i am not able to perform the Volume up and Down and then hold the power button because after few secnds the Emergency goes off ( Flashing and Sounds) so basically i am stuck... not sure what to do. I hear my e-mails whats app, Daily alarm goes off in the background so the phone works but i can not see nothing... now what? Is an Iphone 14 Pro Max with 1TB memory ... i dont want to loose it, can anyone help with sugestions?

Yes. Just activated my phone today. Ironically it happened when Verizon was calling to ask how my phone set up went. I’m sharing this information with her as soon as I get off hold.
