Airpods pro 2 Case Lid Loose

Just bought last week. Happen to me too. The cap moved right and left and making cracking sound. Omagoshhhh i thought the item defect but others had the same problem

My Airpods have the same issue, I see that there is a small space on the hinge that it can be moved from the left to the right when you push or pull the lid and of course it creak if you twist the lid lightly (that I do not see on Airpod 2 of my friend). Is it a defect or just the poor build quality?

The hinge of your AirPods Pro should not feel loose or make a creaking sound when opened. If this is happening with your AirPods Pro case, then we would recommend having them inspected for service or for an exchange since they were recently purchased. Following up. The issue is really a non-issue. More of an OCD micro analysis of the case. Looks like many if not all kids have a bit of play. Perhaps because a rigid one would be more fragile. Anyway enjoy the sound coming from the pods.

@phantom997, did you manage to get a replacement to fix the issue with the lid? I have also have the same issue with my newly bought APP2, my replacement window is closing in next 3 days, Could you please respond how did you get it fixed? Thanks in Advance!

I was just comparing my new 2nd gen AirPod case with my original AirPod Case, and I’ve noticed the same issue. The lid seems to wiggle back-and-forth a lot more than the original one. Bummer

Also purchased from Best Buy. Same exact problem. Contacted Apple support. They said they would send a replacement case and never received it.

Me too! Just received mine last week and already the hinge feels cheap. Had to compare with my old original AirPods and the case quality is different. While it is annoying I just hope it doesn’t cause any further issues.

I have the same issue. Checked it right out of the box. I immediately requested for a replacement and currently waiting to be picked up. Now I'm thinking if I should just keep it since replacing it wouldn't do any difference.

I finally decided to wait for a bit till they sell airpods pro 2nd gen case. Today I tried it on the Bellroy pod jacket. The problem is solved. So I think by having some kind of lid protector really helps..

I bought my Airpods pro 2 from my local Best Buy last Sunday and notice the same thing on the second day and notice creaking and movement on case lid. Funny I had old sound core liberty air which were cheap but the case was solid and in my mind dishing out for Airpods I expected higher quality but feel a bit cheated. I will message Apple directly since from the reviews it is not just a small amount of people but a large problem on quality control. If I exchange at the store I believe I will get the same problem of the lid so since everyone gets 1 year of warranty I hope to receive some kind of ideal solution and not from what I have seen other Apple Community "Specialist" which is 'oh well' or 'will send another' without a guarantee that the next case will be of higher quality.
