Text message conversation won’t delete

My phone is up to date on the upgrades, iOS 16.0.2. However one specific persons text message conversation will not delete. I’ve tried swiping to the right to delete and holding the conversation to delete. It will ask if I would like to delete and then disappear but immediately will pop back up undeleted. I’ve tried restarting my phone and simply turning my phone on and off and refreshing the app. Nothing seems to fix this glitch.

It is frustrating as I am low on phone storage I try to keep my conversations to a minimum.

update iPhone will NOT allow the deletion of texts. I have been a loyal iPhone user for eight years. This will be my last iPhone I’m going to android.

Didn’t help, thanks anyway.

iOS 16 is riddled with too many bugs, and is a resource hog.

Open the Message app

tap the upper left corner < Filters

Tap Recently Deleted

Tap on bottom left. Delete All

Tap red Delete ___ Messages

Sends you to Filter options menu - choose All Messages
