Pixelated screen using Apple CarPlay

I do noticed that using USB cable also will have this glitch while on Waze.

I had the experience twice in a single drive while connect via USB (with WiFi turned off).

So it is not related to WiFi direct display.

There was a comment no that much ago ( 3 posts before by otters ) saying maybe headunit os version 1896 solves this issue.

The only issue with that is that last time I was the dealership they didn’t find any updates for headunit. so I don’t know what to tell them to find it :(

I have a 2019 Chevrolet Cruze , iPhone 13 , 17.4 iOS , and nothing has resolved the pixelation on the maps, it even pixelates the Apple Maps now and within minutes at times , happens in google maps and Waze . Apple has run diagnostics and said it's not on their end, I've tried updating cars firmware but nothing availed, tried restarting phone/ car setting etc but nothing. Only option left is to pay 3rd party infotainment system repair company to check it out and fix it...

Has anyone already tried to erase iPhone all data without restoring backup. and install the apps manually. my company iPhone SE 2 works Google Maps with 16.1

On the VW site there is a we connect support number or email weconnect-support@volkswagen.de. Need to report it here for action I suspect.

This is a software issue for sure, bcoz it is happening almost in every brand and model. In parking, your map is not running, and this is why there are no problems.

If it is VW-related, then how about other brands, like Chevrolet, Mercedes, and Honda I believe it is an Apple-related issue, as all these brands of cars work fine with Android autos so far

Google Maps seems to work since 16.4.1 but Waze still problems ..

I have got the same issue in my Skoda Octavia 4.

I used to use iPhone 12 Pro and this issue happened only in “yanosik” application (another maps app). It was working fine for Google Maps

But I had to switch to iPhone 11 and I am getting this issue also on Google Maps.

All systems are up to date

I have no idea what to do.

my car is VW Passat Elegance 2021. I'm facing same issue for 10days. It was working perfectly but suddenly the car play screen start pixelated.

I did everything but it is still like these below... I hope new IOS release soon.

same problem: iOS 16.1 but it also happened in the iOS 15.x - I upgraded to see if it would be fixed with a new iOS but no. iPhone XS.

Car: seat Leon station car sports tourer, wireless. Car software is fully up to date.

I have the same issue And also when using Apple Maps. I have tried different USB cables different plugs and it is the same in both my cars a 2021 Seat Tarraco and a 2020 Seat Ateca.

It works for 5-10 min max when ypu change over to the Seat infotainment and back Apple Carplay.

Same thing is happening on my 2021 Arteon, started happening 2 weeks ago with IOS 15..

Just updated to the latest IOS- still the same, the position of the car in google maps way off, map very laggy and after about 10 minutes the screen goes pixelated, unusable...

It happens on both Iphone 13mini and Iphone SE2020.

Updated iOS just now to the latest 16.1.1 but no joy..

Folks, same thing happening to my 2021 transporter t6.1 and continues to be a problem after updating to the latest vw software. Running my iPhone 12 Pro on iOS 15.3.1 and same problem whilst running with my wife’s iPhone 8 on iOS 14.8.1.

So the problem suddenly came around about the same time as everyone else here …and pre iOS 16.1.1

We have no such problem with Google maps/CarPlay in our 2018 bmw - running perfectly with either iPhone.

The vast majority of issues in this discussion are VAG related and today I’ve just left my van in with my local VW dealers to inspect….although, at this stage I suspect that I know more about it than they do.

Come on VW/ VAG… Own up!
